HEALTH CONVERSATIONS IN LAIRG

3rd August 2005

NHS Highland are holding a series of meetings across their area to
involve members of the public in informal chats with health
professionals and members of our management team. If anyone wants to
come along and be listened to, ask questions or to discuss health
matters, then they are more than welcome to attend.

Gill Keel, Head of Public Involvement at NHS Highland, explained:

'The reason we have used the term 'health conversations' is because we
want to keep the meetings informal and to have chats about what local
people actually feel or want to know about NHS issues. Also we would
like to bring information about what is happening in Scotland generally
and Highland in particular. We are more than happy to hear suggestions
and opinions about how we can improve our work in local communities.

These views and comments will then be gathered together to be analysed
and fed back so that our services can ultimately be improved.'

The meetings are planned at various venues over the next few months and
the next one is in Lairg.

The people in Sutherland are welcome to attend the Community Centre, in
Lairg on Wednesday, 10th August 2005 between 4pm and 7pm
